The brand new album from Jagath - the ritual / industrial / dark ambient act from Perm, Russia."A portal to another world is located inside an abandoned Soviet-era swamp drain near a residential building in the Zakamsk suburb of Perm, Russia, 58.0122, 55.9623. Jarl - Negative Rotation / Intensive Fracture 2CD (Zoharum: Zohar152-2)

After the critically acclaimed (and almost sold-out) collaborative album with Evenomist, Jarl returns to Zoharum fold with the next release. It is the first in the series of albums collecting rare works of Erik Jarl known for his involvement with IRM and Skin Area apart from his solo work. His own compositions are an exquisite mix of static ambient with strong influence of drone, noise or post-industrial electronica in general. This double CD is a reissue of two cassettes originally released by Abisko. They were recorded on a Fostex 8-track recorder. Both tapes sound very different. ”Negative Rotation” is cold and monotonous, but with some changes in sounds that repeats themselves, while ”Intensive Fracture” is improvised psychedelic floating noise. Both recordings were done with analogue synthesizers and analogue effects. This double CD also contains five bonus tracks from different compilations. The CD are housed in an ecopak sleeve and is strictly limited to 250 copies. The cover picture and design was made by Karolina Urbaniak (responsible for the lastest covers Jarl, IRM and Skin Area albums and widely known for here photographic work.) As Jonathan says: the album is all instrumental heavy analog electronics, inspired by albums like "Sickness Report" by ATRAX MORGUE and "Menses" by MB... Aseptic and chirurgical sounds in best Old School Industrial, P/E tradition by one of the US masters in the genre. First 8 tracks in the CD was supposed to be the only ones in "Suffering and Defiance". But 2 long tracks from "Present Shock" Canady's digital-only release was added as bonus, making out of this a full and heavy CD album, and this is first Canady CD release in a very long time. Junkyard Shaman - Flesh Hole CD (Freak Animal: FreakCD115)

Freak Animal Records is proud to present debut full length CD of JUNKYARD SHAMAN titled ”Flesh Hole”. Packaged in full color digipak, this Finnish artists album represents highly unique material in contemporary Finnish scene. While using many of the traditional methods, of junk metal percussion, screeching and scraping sounds, cassette walkman manipulations and so forth, result is unlike anyone else is doing in Finland. Imagine odd mixture of industrial percussions on found objects like Z’ev, monologues captured on tapes with eerie sound, like Eric Lunde. Mixture of things bordering noise and improvisations like Dislocation. Artists working under different names, exploring noise, drone and junkyard industrial has been active in Finnish live scene for years. His work has mainly existed separate from the well known Finnish power electronics and harsh noise realms. As sort of outsider artists, his work has been distributed often by self made recycled tapes and (Finnish language) outsider poetry books, reeking angst towards industrial society. After hearing multiple works by artists, Freak Animal felt his work is too good and too important to remain only to be known by random locals and people who meet the artist at the gigs or hear his works via internet steams. In spirit, Junkyard Shaman reminds of the 80’s experimental/industrial. It is not overtly noisy, loud or aggressive. It is not vulgar and vile like harsh noise / power electronics. Dark and frostbitten melancholic music, embracing electronics and ambient guitar composition, hailing from Northern Finland.Ltd. edition of 300 copies in hand numbered 6 panels digipacks. Talentated Finnish composer Tuomas M. Mäkelä, who is hidden behind a mysterious name JÄÄPORTIT, brought his ambient project into being in 1997. His creation can be described as dreamlike and melancholic, evoking atmospheres of desolate Nordic landscapes.
