Dagmar Gertot - Os Lacrimale CD (Cyclic Law: 174thCycle)
“Os Lacrimale” is the first full length album from Russian experimental musician and performance artist Dagmar Gertot. A somber surreal opus sourced from the composer’s dream state experiences. Instrumental and vocal improvisations are the tools used for turning the dream world of the subconscious to the outer world, deploying ambiguous visual and aural imagery. Partially ceremonial and “Art brutal” in character, it is a free expression of the psyche’s sometime painful secret world. Turning to text as a compositional tool, the author choose a glossolalia with partial inclusion of semantically active roots, thus leaving open the subsequent spread of various meanings in the form of a ritual surreal short novella, that accompanies some tracks and supports the semantic identity of this work. Musical Instruments used accordion, string-bowed ikili, lyre, gusli, batalo, piano, horns, extra percussion and voice.
Edition fo 300 copies in 4 panels Digisleeve. 8 Tracks. Running Time 30:06. $14.5

Darja Kazimara - Monochromia CD (Cyclic Law: 188thCycle)
Remastered re-issue of her 2016 album of otherworldly funeral chants...in her own words she describes the inception of the album; "This album was a completely impulsive act, the realization of a regular artistic idea, which initially did not mean the final result. This idea was inspired by my great-grandfather, who devoted his whole life to serving the ceremony of "following the dead" (Νεκρώσιμος Ἀκολουθία) and classic examples of ancient Greek literature. But in the end, "Monochromia" became one of my first big works. Here, only the "dialogizing" musical-improvisational experiment and the very nature of the ancient Greek tragedy, which demonstrate the archaic principle of distribution and the interaction of ordinary and ritual violence in the system of relations between man and metaphysics, were of importance. And of course, a large space of the theme of death opens up here. In turn, it is the theme of “sacred violence”, funeral, burial, and initiating rites that is the ideological basis for me throughout my creative activity. Certainly, in this situation, the opportunity, with the help of other people, in a closed space, to recreate a mass state of comprehension of death, is very interesting. Indeed, for this it is necessary to violate, among other things, the bodily and mental boundaries of the participant in such an act, to create a precedent for trauma and deformation, transforming these actions into an audial pit. I just invited all of us, the participants, to cry and grieve together. Perhaps, if I had known in advance that this music would become an album, I would have brought this central state to its apogee and horror. But in the current situation, it turned out to be a very “humane” anthem of human death. Of course, this softness, which is not characteristic of my other works, the sound of "Monochromia" acquired in many respects thanks to a group of initiative people who wanted to take part in this, and I just acted here as a guide and a mirror. This is more a story about mourners at other people's funerals. At that moment in my life, it was this wonderful tradition that seemed to me the most valuable experience." . $14.33

This is dark ambient that constantly morphs and surprises the listener, both disturbing and beautiful. Comes in nice designed 6 page Ekopak.. $9.0

Dawn & Dusk Entwined - A L'Aube des Jours Anciens (Aube & Crepuscule: A&C05)
“A l’aube des jours anciens” is a journey through ancient and mythical lands of Europe, long before the kings and the only God. A soundtrack from mythical and magical times when no one remembers when reality became legend, when mythology met history.
The strength, the sense of epic and enthusiasm evoked by powerful and tribal influenced percussions: thunder and lightenings as drums, the genuine sound of the carnyx (the Celtic horn of war) amongst other ancient sounds, strongly sang vocals and memorable tunes give sense of this mythical evocation...
An almost physical experience, a direct link to the old heathen forces...
The music presents a fine taster of neo-classical, pounding martial, ambiant and neo-folk - and many more - that has for some years become the recognizable D&DE trademark, and defies the rigid confines of the "industrial genre"…. $8.0

Adorned path of Stillness marks the return of the neoclassical and dark ambient music act Day Before Us on the Argentina based label Twilight Records, in collaboration with GH Records. This is a multifaceted album but also remarkably cohesive with many dynamics, emotional movements that will ravish fans of haunting and touching cinematic music in a rather classical mood.. $11.67

Dead Melodies - The Foundation of Ruins CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo094)
Dead Melodies is back with his second album on Cryo Chamber, The Foundations of Ruin. Following on from his last album, Legends of the Wood we return to the isle of mist and dig deeper into the narrative.
"The wrought iron gate creaks open to the overgrown driveway. Up ahead, flickers of lightning make out the hazy silhouette of a large house veiled in a dense fog. Shelter! Finally, somewhere to rest your head after that terrifying ordeal in the wood.
The house, a ruinous crumbling remnant of better days stands lonesome in the unruly grounds; like a keeper bestowed with time itself. An ornate wooden door hangs broken on its hinge, the windows cracked and vines creep wildly from every crevice like tendrils from the netherworld. Something definitely feels wrong here, but with hours till dawn and the relentless storm wailing through the surrounding trees, the will to survive the night defeats all reason to fear this shady forgotten sanctuary.
Stepping inside the once stately ruin, the great hall teems with decay and an age of sedimentary dust covers every surface; any remnants of life that once knew this place are long gone. Doors and stairwells stem off in all directions. With a creaking silence and a deathly stillness consuming the air, you contemplate which way to go. But then, a noise… is someone there? The temperature drops and a familiar chill runs down your spine…."
Recommended for fans of soundtrack like experiences and cinematic dark ambient.. $12.99

DEATHSTENCH - Massed in Black Shadow (Black Plagve: Infect11)
Debut full length from the Los Angeles based duo of Darea Plantin and John-Paul Whetzel, also known for their work in the misanthropic black-doom trio, Welter in Thy Blood.
Within their short discography, DEATHSTENCH has proven particularly adept incorporating elements of death industrial, dark ambient, doom, and black metal, and hideously transforming and molding them into a writhing mass of absolute filth and abject darkness. Built upon field recordings, scrap metal percussion, harrowing electronics, down tuned guitar & bass, and demonic vocalizations, the sound is both nihilistic and vile, rife with occult incantations, buzzing, distorted horror, and saturated walls of droning depravity that dissolve into roiling murk and hellish, blackened smear. Their latest installment, Massed in Black Shadow, is an impious communion summoning and invoking the soundtrack for all death to come. 6 tracks, totaling just over 45 minutes, guaranteed to deliver some of the most terrifying and purely misanthropic sounds you’re likely to find anywhere. “Bastards of the Black Flame” features additional sounds and effects by Cory Rowell of Demonologists, and all tracks are mastered by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Eyehategod, Crisis).
For fans of Steel Hook Prostheses, MZ.412, Brighter Death Now, Abruptum.. $5.0

Different State - The Frigid Condition CD (Zoharum: Zohar036-2)
"The Frigid Condition" is composed of 10 new songs uncovering the new, surprising face of the project; yet, it is not deprived of the typical elements that Marek Marchoff has managed to get us accustomed to via Different State's previous works. Their alchemical mixture of illbient, industrial and psychedelia is most visibly experienced on this particular album. Loads of new elements were added byVera Beren - the new band member.
Not surprisingly, John Kilgore, the engineer of the album (known as a Sonic Youth, Robert Rich and Frank Zappa collaborator amongst others), left its significant mark on "The Frigid Condition".. $5.0

Djinn - 1978 CD (Old Europa Café: OECD182)
10 years after his last full length, Djinn returns with a new work based on the year 1978, the year in the modern era in which the biggest mass-suicide was perpetrated. More than 900 people killed themselves on November 18th, 1978 in Jonestown, exactly the same day in which Vintras, the mind behind Djinn, was born. A date which became the symbol of the beginning and the end, of self-inflicted death. On this album, Vintras collects the more obscure side of mankind's actions and reproduces them into a very dark form of death ambient; Bleak and ominous washes atmospheric horror with samples. Pure antisocial muzak, exactly the way Vintras likes to represent himself.. $8.0

Donis - Vacuum (Autarkeia: ACD003)
This is not the latest Donis' record. It was recorded in 1997, when Lithuania was still in deepest electronic music crisis. "Vacuum" had waited seven years for his real live in personal Donis' archive. The album consists of only one long track, that could be ascribed to "ambient' stylistics. Tough the sound of album proposes feeling of dark emptiness, it can not be described as "dark ambient". By it's influence "Vacuum" reminds "Coil's" ambient works that take you to the psychedelic trip. Extremely low generator vibration in record doesn't allow the feeling that you're high in the mountains to go out. The air is being crossed by toneless and icy sound, music motives are deep and sharp. Every stream of sound will work out as if you, the listener, are in a trip of deep emptiness. Album lasts for 65 minutes. It’s packed in a special black DVD box. We recommend you to listen to “Vacuum’ only on Hi-fi stereo. Limited edition 499 copies.. $5.0

Dronny Darko - Abduction CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo068)
Dronny Darko brings us a new album of dark dreams, recorded in the smoke filled Black Room studio (Kiev, Ukraine).
Dark entities roam the edge of our reality. An incomprehensible intellect observes our primitive patterns and behaviors. Vulnerable and naked, you become abducted and pulled into their domain. Examined by strange machines that hum, buzz and drip. You awaken, ankle deep in a purple fetid sludge that submerges the floor of the charcoal citadel. Alien symbols adorn the colossal doorways here, each leading into a new world. In the distance guttural clicks reverberate as they watch your trembling steps from within the shadows. Are they waiting for you to choose your fate?
This album merges the lowercase and minimal genre with a strong science fiction element. Throbbing bass layers croak and groan under the pressure of whirling machines that buzz and hum. Very dark and brooding.. $12.67

Dronny Darko & RNGMNN - Sector Hydra CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo119)
Deep space ambient atmospheres and sinister drone combine for an immersive expedition to abandoned alien assembly lines on this album by Dronny Darko & RNGMNN
The on-board computer had become increasingly erratic as I approached the energy emission on the unexplored side of the planet. Eventually the AI overheated, stranding me on the lifeless, desolate lump of rock. I rode manually to investigate the energy source, and brought the AI core with me - charred cables emitting a putrid stench inside the research probe.
The alien structure towered like a black monolith under dual moons. I spent days there, roaming through deserted production halls, trying to scavenge anything I could find that was not beyond my understanding. Deeper in and further down the massive assembly lines seemed gone, in favor of smaller, separate enclosements, bathed in uniform light. Here I started to find organic remains, as well as things whose ancestors may indeed have been machines or animals.
On the third day, I found a discarded pack, stamped with the sigil of the guild. The dust that covered almost everything else seemed absent here, and instilled in me both a fervent hope and a creeping fear. It is obvious that this site has had other visitors. A thoroughly exhausting search, on foot, of the surrounding terrain revealed several crashed pods. If one of them has a functioning relay, it can be repurposed.
It will have to be done fast. Something has awakened inside, by my doing or some other force I do not know. I must be utterly certain that nothing else returns with me. But how?
Recommended for Dark Space Horror fans. $12.99

Dødsmaskin - Fullstendig Brent CD (Malignant: TumorCD104)
The physical debut for Norway’s Dødsmaskin, Fullstendig Brent («completely burnt»; «holocaust») is a meticulously crafted effort that presents to the listener a sonic interpretation of one of the darkest chapters in Norwegian history, namely the witch trials that took place in the country's northernmost regions during the 17th century. Assembled constructs that incorporate field recordings, drones, atonal melodies and clusters of distortion and searing noise, Dødsmaskin transcends all genre classification, pushing boundaries while deftly navigating through a spectrum of post-industrial soundscapes. Tracks can and often start quietly and introspectively, then build to explosive climaxes of unbridled tension and razor sharp intensity, with dense pneumatic blasts intersecting with caustic frequencies and mechanized throb. It’s that kind of unpredictability, attention to detail, and forward-thinking craftsmanship that’ll have you thinking Kevin Drumm one minute, and Sistrenatus, STROM.ec or Propergol the next, and what makes Dødsmaskin such a vital new entry to the Malignant roster. Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri of Black Knoll Studio, N.Y. (www.blackknollstudio.com) and presented in a 4 panel, textured digipak.. $8.0
